Aziatic aka “the
Son of Hopkins” is no doubt the hardest working
Garifuna Entertainer of our time. With seven albums
and five DVD’s released in the past 10 years, no
other artist has come close.
After blowing up
the scene with his introduction album “Jam 96X”,
Aziatic is still the most talked about personality
to make history with every accomplishment.
As an Entertainer
/ Producer and Concert Promoter, he has worked
vigorously over the past eight years to introduce
his peers to fans in the United States, with His
“Best of the Best” Punta Rock Concerts and His “One
of One” Productions.
Aziatic figured
out early on that Punta Music needed about a million
dollars worth of investment just to stay alive.
With that, he gave up a lot of his personal time and
invested heavily when he decided to be a part of the
solution by cutting back on his performances and
working hand in hand with other entertainers.
Today it turns out
that during that period of time, his fans were not
getting Aziatic at his best. As he admitted, he was
more focused on promoting other performers like Supa
G, Lloyd, Reckless, Griga Boys, Mohobub, Andy
Palacio and countless others.
It wasn't until
early 2008 while answering emails on his Myspace
page that Aziatic decided to do something special
for the people who have been supporting him for over
a decade.
With “Yugadan”
soon to be released worldwide and shipped to BET,
MTV, VH1, and UniVision, Aziatic plans to deliver a
side of him that fans have never seen. As the
cameras followed him to Belize, Chicago, New York,
and Los Angeles. “The party is just about to get
started” he said.
Although Punta
Rock has been at the forefront of his career, his
love for Hip-Hip and R&B also gets some shine.
On “living life”
featuring N-iGmA, the young “New York word slinger”
touches the Mic and reminisces about what he loves
about Belize. Then on “Slave” another of Aziatic’s
many unreleased tracks he collaborates with Bent
One, another one of Belize’s premire Hip-Hop artists
now residing in the United States.
This DVD is broken
down into three sections. A Documentary, Unplugged,
and some never before seen Music Videos. With the
Documentary Aziatic’s mother narrates a story about
her only son, his up bringing, and his life as an
entertainer.
The Unplugged is a
very special dedication by Aziatic. It is dedicated
to “Teezy “ who passed away one month after the
recording of the live performance. A day that came
to a shocking halt when news that the young bass
player, whom he had taken under his wings, was
gone. This segment also includes some of Aziatic’s
favorite Paranda songs.
The Music Video’s
were picked out of a total of 400 songs that Aziatic
has recorded in his career. The process, which he
said was real difficult, resulted in the selection
of six songs which he thinks the majority of his
fans will appreciate and love.
