Opens Belize Youth Football League
Orange Walk, Belize: A parade
through the principal streets of Orange
Walk Town started with Police escort at
precisely 9 am as programmed.
Fifteen(15)
teams participated in their uniforms
ending at the
Louisiana football field where a
marathon took place. Sponsored by Belize
Cultural Foundation the league is
scheduled to play all games on
Saturdays. Teams gathered for a
little speech where Dr. Marco
Tulio Mendez
reminded players about sportsmanship and
about the hard work that the sponsors
Belize Cultural Foundation had done.
At the end of the day there were going
to be a first, second and third place
winners. They day was just cool and a
light rain did not discourage fans nor
teams from staying far from the field.
Most of the games were decided at the
end by
penalties which suggested that the teams
were well balanced. Everyone was happy
with the outcome as third place went to
Guinea Grass. Second place went to
Yo Creek and
first place went to San Francisco Roman
Catholic School. After prizes were given
out to the winners Dr Mendez thanked
everyone present and encouraged them to
continue participating. Games concluded at
6:10 pm. All participants must be
enrolled in school, maintain at least a
C average and be Drugs Free. All games will be played
on Saturdays. |

Concert 2007
Inglewood, Calif: The day is
quickly approaching, July 15, 2007.
King Stamina has created a lineup for his
annual BelizeanArtist concert that will
rival every Belizean event that have
been produced this year. With
artists such as Aziatic, Lova Boy,
Fleshless, Lady Justice, Thug Angelz,
and bands such as Guwei Posse, Caribbean
Dynamics, Libaya Baba, this event plans
to not only entertain, but also gives
the audience a true sense of all around
Belizean culture.
The event
will begin at 2pm and ends at 10pm.
The cost to the event varies depending
on your education status. General
Admission is $20.00, Children in
Elementary school are free, Junior High
students are $5.00, High School students
are $10.00 and if you are attending
College your cost will be $15.00.
Of course school ID are required for
admission price. Merchandise and
Food Booths are for sale. The
event will be hosted by Curtis Gillett,
the character "Steve" from the Belizean
Soap Opera hit "Noh Matta Wat."

Miss
Belize California Beauty Pageant
INGLEWOOD,
CALIF: The Miss Belize California
Beauty Pageant is now accepting
application for the upcoming beauty
pageant, scheduled to be held at
Hollywood Park Casino on Sunday August
26, 2006. Cash prices and awards
will be presented.
To compete you must Be of Belizean Origin,
at least 17 years old and 24 years at end of reign,
a
female
that was never
married and never had children,
Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss
Belize California Committee. Be in reasonably good health to meet the job
requirements.
Must be within
Height/Weight Requirement,
and be able to meet the time commitment and job
responsibilities as set forth by the Pageant. Deadline to
register as a contestant is August 5,
2007.
The Pageant are looking for Young Ladies from all districts in
Belize, from Corozal to Punta Gorda to compete for the title of Miss
Belize California. All applicants will be considered.
However, contestant must possess the
entire package of poise, personality,
intelligence and beauty. They should
understand that, along with the prizes
and glamour, there comes a
responsibility to the pageant system,
sponsors, community, California and
Belize. They automatically and instantly
become role models.
The purpose of this
event is to give an opportunity to young women
in the southern
California area the possibility to earn a college degree and prepare
for a career through scholarship funding. It will also creates and
maintain a system of competition, which will enhance career
opportunities and produce role models representing positive, wholesome
Belizean values. The pageant goal is to allow participants
opportunities to gain additional life experience,
enhance personal and professional skills and
develop performance-related and other talents. It will encourage and
promote the role of women in all aspects
of our society, while providing a
deterrent for young women in the
Southern California area with a positive alternative to the many
destructive activities that lure our young people today. The
competition will promote involvement of contestants and title-holders
in community service programs and charities.
It is certain to be a
year of personal growth and maturing
that money cannot buy.
